Did Andy Reid and the Eagles front office lose it all of a sudden? Although they are NFC East rivals I have a lot of respect for what they have accomplished during their term. That said, I believe they've finally reached that point where their traditional lack of loyalty is going to speed up their demise.
I was floored by the news that Brian Dawkins (the ultimate Eagle) was allowed to leave and go to Denver. Although I could never be accused of liking the Eagles, Dawkins is a guy you have to love because of the man he is off the field and the way he plays on the field. I cannot believe that the Eagles are better off without Brian Dawkins in that locker room. The Defensive Coordinator supreme, Jim Johnson is battling illness which to me makes it even more important that you keep guys like Dawkins around for stability. If there is a guy you want to finish his career in Philly he would be it.

On that same note I am very happy to see Donovan McNabb finally wise up and demand that the Eagles give him some weapons before he negotiates his next contract. It would be comical if it weren't so sad how every year McNabb gets the blame for the woes of the Eagles when he has very few weapons besides Westbrook.
In the past the Eagles have been able to let players go like this and get better but this time I do not see anyone that can give the Eagles what Dawkins gave them. I also see McNabb starting to seek life elsewhere if he does not see some improvements. The situation in Philly looks pretty bleak but Andy Reid to his credit usually works best under adversity. He out did himself this time.
