Random NHL Thoughts
1. Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. Can you imagine life as a Bruins fan? Your team steamrolls through the season only to have the New Jersey Devils with a healthy and rested Brodeur poised to catch and pass you at the end of the regular season. Look on the bright side Bruins fans...at least you won't play them first.

2. May-Day! May-Day! We are going down! All we heard at the beginning of this season was how magical this year would for the Montreal Canadians. Yeah, it is special alright and the last person leaving Montreal can pretty much turn out the lights. Now in addition to the giant Easter Egg this team laid on the ice we hear that the owner maybe selling the team. Montreal hockey snobs everywhere are crying in their (insert drink here).

3. The Caps need to grow up. The Washington Caps are a tremendously talented young hockey team but until they stop relying solely upon their talented quad and play a more team oriented, non-cute style of hockey they will continue to exit the Stanley Cup playoffs earlier than they should.

4. The United Brotherhood of Ovechkin Haters! The one thing Don Cherry always fails to mention to his flock of mindless drones is one sure fire way of ending Ovechkin's goal celebrations. Maybe Cherry should instruct his Canadian "good ol boys" (his words...not mine) to play some defense and stop him? We all know how much Cherry hates people that bring unnecessary attention to themselves. I wonder when Cherry will complain about people that wear loud suits and say stupid things during hockey games?

5. Marty Brodeur is the best ever. As if we didn't already know this he broke the big record so now everything he does is history. It is a rare opportunity to watching living history so I will make it a point to catch more Devils games.

6. Who's hot? Ollie Jokinen. The Calgary GM is sure looking good on that move right now. Of course it remains to be seen if Jokinen can produce in the playoffs. Everything this guy throws at the net is going in.

7. Who's Cold? Tomas Fleischmann. Flash started the season like he was going to blossom into the goal scoring, two-way player the Caps envisioned only to go dormant over the past 28 games. Cue the crickets and tumbleweed. Right now the net must look as big as a blade of grass when he's on the ice.
