It is truly unfortunate that really smart people get duped so easily. Take the Minnesota front office for example. They believe Mr 50-50 still has what it takes to lead them to an NFL championship. I believe quantum theory so I do believe all things are possible but I think Favre brings a lot baggage that the Vikings organization and team are not ready for.
Favre certainly represents an immediate improvement over any of the QBs currently on Minnesota's roster but is the 40 year old gun slinger enough? Any true student of history need only take a gander at his career stats and his chronic tendancy to make the absolute worst decision at the absolute worst times. Favre had plenty of opportunities to fix these self destructive tendancies but he never did.
Minnesota was already a good football team before the Favre talk started and now they will be a team with the weight of the world's expectations on their shoulders. Ask Brett's former teammates in Green Bay and NY how it felt to have Favre mentioned in every interview? Call me crazy but football loses the team sport feel whenever Favre is around. Favre got a bitter taste of reality when the NY media asked the tough questions after his bone headed mistakes that the Green Bay media was too afraid to ask.
I guess we all will have to live with the NFL Network trasnforming into the Favre TV Network as if the other 29 teams and their fans give a hollering hoot about Brett Favre. The funny thing is most of us already know how this story is gonna end. I wish the Minnesota Vikings well and I remind them to be careful what you wish for because you may get it.
