The right to remain silent (updated)
By: Turner Sports Desk
Here is what we know. Tiger Woods was in a car accident roughly 100 feet from his home. He went to the hospital and there were neither reports of alcohol nor
drugs. While this situation makes everyone curious it does not need to be further explained by Woods who has done everything he is required to according to Florida Law.
The only people this story alive is the media because it is in their best interest to keep this story alive. In fact, the only reason the police are likely still seeking to interview Woods is because of media pressure. Hopefully we will not have another case of a publicity seeking District Attorney trying to make something out of nothing in order to enhance his/her career (see the Duke lacrosse case).
So what is this about? Their are a lot of people in the media that do not like the fact that Tiger Woods has almost complete control over his media access. Tiger keeps his private life private and a lot of media want him to be more accessible. Now that they think they have something on Tiger you are witnessing an all out attack to either destroy him or get him to talk on their terms.
Update:
The woman Tiger was allegedly having an affair with spoke out.
