Breaking News: Jim Zorn fired as house cleaning begins (updated)
By: Turner Sports Desk
The much anticipated organizational housecleaning at Redskin Park began today with the firing of Jim Zorn. An official statement The Washington Post reported that Jim Zorn left the building at 4:45am an official statement came later this morning. The era of Bruce Allen as General Manager and decision maker has begun.
Media speculation has centered around Mike Shanahan but all appears to be quiet on that front as well. The only word on that front was
Former Broncos safety, John Lynch who has a gut
feeling Shanahan is coming to DC.
Jim Zorn deserves praise for taking the
high road and being professional throughout this process. If he ever writes a
book or pamphlet about his time in Washington I’d love to read it. On that same
note Jim Zorn deserves no special treatment because this team looked absolutely
horrid under his watch.
For Redskins nation this is just the beginning of what
promises to be another very interesting off season in Redskin Nation. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30.
