ESPN980 is reporting that the Redskins are actively pursuing Green Bay Veteran left tackle
Chad Clifton. Clifton is 33 so that shoots the youth movement theory in the foot. This move is interesting in terms of draft strategy because the Skins can still draft an Offensive Lineman at 4 and play him at right tackle until they deem him ready to move over.
For those of you that believe the Skins are locked on a QB at 4 the Rams may change that plan. If the Rams do not grab Michael Vick or another veteran QB they are likely to draft Sam Bradford now. The Redskins would be massively over valuing Jimmy Clausen by drafting him at the 4 spot so we can only hope they are either planning to trade down or draft someone at four that most mock drafts don't have the Redskins drafting.
The optimum place to draft Clausen is out of the top ten especially if Jason Campbell stays. If the Skins draft Clausen at 4 I would expect Campbell to be dealt because Clausen has to start if he is making that kind of money. Campbell has trade value and could net the Skins some picks.
