Breaking News: Jason Campbell is an Oakland Raider

NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora reports that he has been in constant contact with Jason Campbell (who has been in contact with his agent) and Jason Campbell stated that a deal with the Raiders is done. The likely compensation being a 5th round pick. Campbell would go to a situation that is not ideal but he automatically becomes the best QB on the Oakland roster.

Update: NFL.com's Michael Lombardi reports that due to the size of JaMarcus Russell's contract he will be asked to take a significant pay cut. If Russell refuses (which is likely) then he will be cut as early as next week ending Oakland's experiment with a guy once thought to be a no brainer franchise quarterback. Meanwhile Jason Campbell gets an opportunity to resurrect a once proud Raiders franchise.
