Early thoughts/predictions on the Redskins schedule

According to the NFL.com strength of schedule rankings the
Redskins have the 8th toughest schedule in the league. By comparison
within the division the Cowboys rightfully have the third toughest, The Giants
the seventh toughest and the Eagles have the ninth toughest schedule. The NFC
East by far has the toughest strength of schedule of any division with all four
teams in the top ten. What does that mean? Another year where the division
beats itself up and the survivors goes deep into the playoffs.
The following are my initial thoughts on the schedule which
are of course subject to change:
Cowboys – This
game is a mismatch on paper because the Cowboys are really good while the
Redskins are really unknown. We know Shanahan teams are always prepared and we
know Donovan McNabb can make plays. We know Jim Haslett is ultra aggressive but
we do not know how fast the Redskins defense will take to the 3-4 packages
within the overall scheme. - Loss
Texans – We know
the Texans have an excellent offense. We don’t know about the Redskins
defense. - Win
At Rams – Win
At Eagles –
Depending upon the Eagles record and the Kolb’s performance by this game McNabb
will either be booed mercilessly or cheered endlessly. -Loss
Packers – We better
hope the Redskins defense is playing well because Aaron Rodgers is the real
deal and if the Packers improve on defense they will win their division this
season. - Loss
Colts – The Redskins
and Shanny will be absolutely pumped for this one. Manning will get his so the
question will be can the Redskins match while the defense slows Manning down
enough to win? - Loss
At Bears – Julius
Peppers is great but they don’t have enough. -win
At Lions – Win
Eagles – Redskins
pound eagles on Monday Night Football – win
At Titans – Maybe
we will be playing Haynesworth - Win
Vikings –
Minnesota will not be as good as last year but they will be good enough to beat
the Redskins only if Favre is QB. If not, the Skins win. – loss
At Giants – We
never seem to win up there -loss
Bucs – Win
At Cowboys – We always
split and Shanny/McNabb find a way to win – Win
At Jacksonville -
Win
At Giants – Win
This is a guestimate and it certainly does not take other
factors into account like injuries, dumb luck, hot/cold streaks etc. If things
break the Redskins way more often than they don’t I can see 10-6 or 9-7.
