If the Steelers want a top-ten pick Redskins should listen

The Steelers are finding out that it is next to impossible to unload a great QB with an image problem. They want to unload Roethlisberger and the St. Louis Rams have already rejected their overtures. According to NFL.com’s Jason LaCanfora the only real option for Pittsburgh is to trade with the Raiders at the 8 spot.  I disagree because if the Redskins are doing their due diligence they should be offering Pittsburgh their 4 spot for Pittsburgh’s 18, 52 and next year’s third rounder for the opportunity to grab Clausen because Cleveland could snag Clausen at 7th spot and Clausen will not fall below Buffalo at the 9th spot.

BenThe Redskins can still get a serviceable tackle at 18, another impact or depth player at 52 and an extra 3rd rounder next year. The Steelers may be forced to come around because they have the problem of no one wanting Big Ben. I’m sure teams desire his play but now the face of your franchise is a guy with a history of alcohol and he stalks/hurts women so good luck selling that to your fan base that is loaded with women. If I were Pittsburgh I would trade up, grab Clausen and cut Roethlesberger and go forward.

Pittsburgh is learning that no one can afford to have this type of damaged goods as the face of their franchise. The Redskins would be crazy not to be at least inquiring about the possibilities here.

I'm sure that the Steelers would love such a deal... but why on earth would the Redskins do it?

Have you ever looked at the standard Draft Value Chart? 18, 52, and next year's 3rd round pick doesn't add up to the 4th pick in the draft... in fact it isn't close. 1st 2nd and 3rd THIS year is still short. They would need to add next year's 2nd round pick or make it 1st and 3rd this year plus next year's first.

And I think we can agree that isn't going to happen.
