Washington Redskins Head Coach, Mike Shanahan must have had some
reservations about his young wide outs during the Skins first minicamp because
the Redskins immediately signed two
veteran wide outs in the form of Joey (9-route)
Galloway and Bobby Wade. Galloway played on more teams than I can remember
and his only notable attribute was his speed. Galloway’s toughness and willingness to go
over the middle has been in question since he’s been in the NFL. Santana Moss
is faster and definitely more productive so it makes one wonder why Galloway is
here.
Bobby Wade comes to DC from the Kansas City Chiefs where he
had 36 catches and 2 TDs. He is 5’10 and 186 pounds so the Redskins appear to
be stocking up on little guys for some reason. What this tells us is that both Shanahan’s want
more experience at the receiver position.
This also means that Terrell Owens may not be as out of the equation as
we have been led to believe. Stay tuned..
