Will Stephen Strasburg end baseball apathy in Washington?

It is very rare when hype is legitimized. Often we build
people up only to be horrifically let down especially when it comes to rookies
and sports. So why is it that every talking head and even veteran players are
dead serious when they say Nationals rookie pitching sensation, Stephen
Strasburg is a man among boys already? Seasoned baseball players and major
league scouts that watched him annihilate the competition at every level say
this kid not only has the goods but his goods are already better than most
people’s goods in the big leagues.
There is a large portion of the Washington DC population
(myself included) that grew up without baseball so the apathy level with regard
to the Nationals is high. Perhaps Strasburg is the remedy because now people
looking in from the outside have someone worth paying attention to. I am also intrigued at the fact that the
Nationals are still in contention and not in dead last place. Now the
possibilities are infinite and thanks to Strasburg apathy gives way to
curiosity.
