Sporting
News is reporting that New Orleans Saints Running Back and Former USC Star
Reggie Bush will be the first Athlete in the 75 year history of the award to be
stripped of his Heisman Trophy. Heisman Trophy’s trust has come to the
conclusion during their investigation that Reggie did indeed do enough to
warrant this ground breaking action.
The winner up that year was Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young
who has already said he did not want the award. Young’s University of Texas Coach,
Mac Brown did state that he would like the award for the University of Texas
but it remains to be seen what will happen beyond the award being stripped from
Bush.
Despite Bush’s poor decisions that led to this mess he was
without a doubt the best football player on the field that year. While Bush
deserves to lose the award no one else beat Bush out for it either. This represents yet another black eye for
Bush and USC.
